Officers responding to the Unit block of North Race Street around 2:40 a.m. found 30-year-old Ruben Morales suffering from a gunshot wound, according to the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
He was pronounced dead at 4:17 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest, the coroner's office said.
His cause of death is gunshot wounds to the body, and his manner of death homicide, according to the coroner's office.
In addition to the coroner's office, the death is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County Homicide Task Force, and with assistance from the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Office.
